In February 2019, GMACWorkforce hosted a 20-member delegation from the Jobs for the Future (JFF) Congressional Staff Network on Economic Advancement.  Participating Congressional staff included members of the United States Senate HELP Committee, House Education & Workforce Committee, Senate Finance Committee, and House Committee on Ways & Means.

While in Memphis, the delegation met with City and County officials, several local workforce development officials, representatives from the medical device industry, EDGE, and other community leaders to learn about how the region is reinventing its workforce and postsecondary education systems to address the needs of its high demand industry sectors; ensuring equal opportunities for disadvantaged populations and youth.

JFF’s Congressional Staff Network brings together a bicameral, bipartisan group of senior Congressional staff to focus on policy issues at the core of economic mobility: K-12 education, postsecondary education, workforce development, and poverty alleviation. The purpose of the Congressional Staff Network is to connect policymakers directly with practitioners leading effective and innovative programs across the country.  The Congressional Staff Network provides staff with an informal and confidential setting for staff to examine critical issues of education and economic mobility while learning about the real-world impact and potential of federal policy.
