We’re thrilled to announce that two esteemed members of the EDGE team have recently achieved the prestigious Economic Development Basic Finance Certification. This accomplishment by Trey McKnight and Destinee Hannah underscores our commitment to excellence and ongoing professional development within our organization.
In line with our dedication to fostering growth and expertise, the team took part in two days of programming to obtain this certification. The course focuses on the variety of development finance tools available in Tennessee, from bonds, tax credits, PILOT and TIF, to federal financing programs, revolving loan funds and access to capital lending resources.
Destinee shared her thoughts on the significance of professional development and their experience throughout the process, saying that “Many people think professional development only relates to their career, but it can also become beneficial in all life aspects. When there is an opportunity to expand my skill set, I do my best to take full advantage of it. Knowledge is power!”
The process of obtaining the Economic Development Basic Finance Certification was an enriching experience that allowed our team to better understand the possibilities available within their roles. With a comprehensive curriculum spanning two days, each speaker and instructor went above and beyond to ensure that every participant grasped the intricacies of finance in economic development. From insightful presentations to personal testimonies and ample networking opportunities, the experience was enlightening.
Please join us in congratulating Trey and Destinee on this achievement! Their commitment to continuous learning and professional growth sets an example for us all. As we celebrate their success, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of excellence and look forward to the positive impact they will continue to make within our organization and the community at large.
